Sergeant Dermon Caffran

Gaunt's ghosts stuff. (deviously warned, spoilers aplenty!)
Caff, a young trooper when he joined up for the Guard, faces almost every major engagement the Ghosts had ever face. He is originally in Rawne's 3rd platoon before getting promotion and having a squad of his own.
Some notable scene, especially that of Vervunhive (in Necropolis) saw him in romance with fellow sergeant, Tona Criid (she was civilian back then on Verghast) and they adopted Gol Kolea's children, Dalin and Yoncy. So, he got the nickname Papa Caff. Dalin joined up for the Tanith too, when he came of age.
Another one was him being accused of rape and murder on Phantine, it was Cuu who did it. Though at first i suspect the bastard was that scum Meryn cause it was written there that the murderer was handsome as Caff. Damn, by Feth, no way in hell that Lijah Cuu could be good looking! But anyway...
In The Armour of Contempt, (I haven't read it but i got outside information XD) Caff was shot during the liberation of Gereon and he was dead! (Ok, i spoiled, don't point that lasgun at me!!! XDXDXDXD ^^")
Though he died, Emperor rest his bones, I believe he became the lasting legend and memory of the First and Only, like those of Bragg, Corbec, Muril and so many more poor souls.
